Trap botox at Abijou Gangnam: options, units, prices and aftercare

Trap botox is botulinum toxin type A injected into the trapezius, the muscle that shapes the line between neck and shoulder. It acts on muscle, not fat, and cosmetic trapezius injection is not a listed indication on the U.S. BOTOX labels or the Korean MFDS records checked here, so it is an off-label decision by the treating doctor. In the 12 October 2026 snapshot, Abijou Gangnam lists nine trapezius lines, 50 or 100 units under five origin labels, from KRW 53,900 to KRW 319,000 (VAT excluded).

What is trap botox, and what does it act on?

Trap botox is a menu name for botulinum toxin type A injected into the trapezius. The toxin blocks acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, so the injected muscle contracts with less force, and sustained reduced contraction can reduce the bulk of that muscle over time. It does nothing to fat, so if the shoulder line is mainly fat, bone structure or posture, a muscle-targeted drug is the wrong tool.

Which trapezius options does Abijou Gangnam list?

HISTORICAL EXAMPLE, not a current quote. The 12 October 2026 Gangnam menu lists trapezius toxin at 50 or 100 units under five origin labels: Korean, Premium Korean, German, UK and US. The US line is listed at 50 units only. Prices run from KRW 53,900 (Korean, 50 units) to KRW 319,000 (UK, 100 units), VAT excluded; the full list is in the table below.

  • The menu names a country of origin, not a product. Units are defined by each manufacturer’s own potency assay, and the U.S. BOTOX label states its units are not interchangeable with other botulinum toxin products. So “100 units” under one label is not the same dose as “100 units” under another.
  • Ask which product sits behind the origin label you choose, and have the product name and unit count written on your record.
  • A higher price is not a stronger or longer result. The amount is a menu price for one session.

Is injecting the trapezius an approved use?

Not in the records checked here. Cosmetic trapezius injection is not among the uses listed on the U.S. BOTOX and BOTOX Cosmetic labels, and the Korean MFDS records for Nabota and Meditoxin do not list it either. Off-label is not the same as illegal — a licensed doctor may prescribe outside the label on clinical judgement — but this use is not reviewed by the U.S. FDA or in the Korean MFDS records checked here, so you weigh the evidence and the risk together with the doctor before consenting.

What did the published trapezius trial measure?

One randomized trial in 30 healthy Chinese women compared two injection techniques — a conventional pattern and a nerve-distribution-based pattern — over 6 months. Mean muscle-thickness reduction in the two groups was 0.27±0.08 cm and 0.21±0.09 cm at 3 months, and 0.28±0.06 cm and 0.2±0.09 cm at 6 months.

  • It compared technique against technique, not toxin against no treatment.
  • The authors reported no severe side effects. Shoulder and neck strength were not measured, so ask the doctor what they expect for your work, sport or lifting.
  • Six months was the observation window, not a promised duration.

What does the label warn about, and who should not be injected?

The U.S. BOTOX labels carry a boxed warning on distant spread of toxin effect: effects may spread from the injection site hours to weeks after injection and cause symptoms including swallowing and breathing difficulty, which can be life threatening. The BOTOX Cosmetic label lists two contraindications — hypersensitivity to any botulinum toxin preparation, and infection at the proposed injection site — and warns that people with pre-existing neuromuscular disorders may be at increased risk.

  • Disclose neuromuscular disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding, medicines affecting neuromuscular transmission such as aminoglycoside antibiotics, and previous toxin injections with their dates.
  • Swallowing, speech or breathing difficulty, drooping eyelids, double vision or generalized weakness after an injection need emergency care.

What does the Gangnam aftercare guide say after toxin?

The Gangnam aftercare page of Abijou’s reservation centre (checked 2026-10-12) gives general notes for botulinum toxin. They are not an individual prescription; follow the branch’s instructions if they differ.

  • Redness, swelling or bruising can appear; the guide says these generally ease within 1 to 2 weeks.
  • For 7 days avoid alcohol, smoking, sauna, massage, jjimjilbang and strenuous exercise. The guide suggests waiting at least 2 to 3 weeks before meridian massage.
  • Severe redness, itching or hives are reasons to contact the clinic right away.
  • The labels describe assessing effect over days to weeks, not on the day, so plan your trip with that window in mind.

Frequently asked questions

What is trap botox?

Botulinum toxin type A injected into the trapezius, the muscle between neck and shoulder. It reduces how strongly the muscle contracts, which over time can reduce its bulk. It does not act on fat.

How much is trap botox at Abijou Gangnam?

In the 12 October 2026 snapshot, Gangnam listed nine trapezius lines from KRW 53,900 (Korean, 50 units) to KRW 319,000 (UK, 100 units), VAT excluded. These are one-session menu prices, not a quote.

Should I get 50 or 100 units?

The dose is the doctor’s decision after examining the muscle. Units are defined per product and are not interchangeable, so the unit count only means something together with the product name.

Why do the origin labels have different prices? Is the expensive one stronger?

The menu groups lines by country of origin, and each product defines its own units. A higher price is not a measure of strength or duration. Ask which product sits behind the label you are quoted.

Is trap botox FDA-approved?

Cosmetic trapezius injection is not listed on the U.S. BOTOX labels or the Korean MFDS records for Nabota and Meditoxin checked here. A doctor may use it off-label on clinical judgement, but that use is not reviewed by the U.S. FDA or in the Korean MFDS records checked here.

When will I see a change, and how long does it last?

The labels describe assessing effect over days to weeks, not on the day. The trapezius trial measured muscle thickness at 3 and 6 months; that is how long it observed people, not how long a result lasts. Ask the doctor what interval they use and why.

Can I work out or get a massage afterwards?

The Gangnam aftercare guide says to avoid strenuous exercise, sauna, massage, jjimjilbang, alcohol and smoking for 7 days, and to wait at least 2 to 3 weeks before meridian massage. If your job or sport loads the shoulders, discuss it before the injection.
